I cannot disagree with you there... but then again, spending MORE money ALWAYS attracts better women !!!

If someone came up to you and said "This is your lucky day !!! You may pick ONE of these two cars... and it is yours FREE !!! Choose between a '95 Civic H/B with a JRSC and lowering kit or a brand new stock Z06"... and you chose the Civic... you should have your head examined.

However, if you were to sit down and write down what either one would cost, since this is how ALL of us here would get either one (I haven't run into Ed McMahan lately, have you ???)... very few of us here could truly AFFORD the Z06.

Lets make a ballpark comparison:

Respectively, Civic - Corvette

Retail price: $6,500.00 - $57,000.00
Monthly payment (zero down pmnt): $191.00 x 36 - $951.00 x 60 (zero % financing)
Monthly insurance cost: $165.00 - $485.00 (if you could even get it)
Credit card bill for go-fast parts: $5,000.00 - $0.00 (The car doesn't need anything... it is FAST already)
Monthly card payment (so you can pay it off at the same time as the Civic): Say about $300.00 monthly.


Bottom Line: The monthly cost for each is $656.00 - $1,436.00... and lets not forget that you would agonize under this weighty Corvette payment for an additional 24 months longer than the Civic's... not to mention the higher fuel costs, tire costs, and more expensive maintainence costs.

Picking up chicks sure is expensive. I am soooo glad I am happily married !!!

Jim, you forgot to add that new (obscenely expensive) tires are recommended every other oil change. That's according to a friend's $300K a year, Z06 owning dad. He traded his for a big boat.

BUT, I say go for it. It's much easier to handle bankruptcy when you're young and don't have a house and family to risk. [img]wink.gif[/img]
